We have designed this website as a portal of information not only about our park, but about the beautiful countryside and surrounding area we live in. As with all our efforts, this is an integral part of the highly creative endeavor we have undertaken. Through this work in progress, we hope to delineate ourselves as a discrimnating vacation destination and better provide a unique experience for those who visit us. We anticipate that you find things here which you can not only use while visiting us, but carry on with you in your travels, wherever they may be...
Tucked away in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Clayton Park rests on the northwestern shore of Lake Henry in Maplewood and has been a family run business for nearly a century. Clayton Park is one of over 10 campgrounds in Wayne County, which is home to more lakes than any other county in the state. Lake Henry was formerly known as Silkman's pond. You can read more about it through the cottager association's website, LHCA.
Clayton Park was originally known as Swoyer's Landing and operated as a picnic grove and boat livery on a small farm in the early 1900's. Currently owned and operated by a member of the Swoyer Family, Clayton Park is a 70 acre vacation departure where we work hard to create a unique experience, at the heart of which are the fundamentals of camping, fishing, and boating. Clayton Park now provides approximately 100 seasonal and overnight campsites. We offer full hook-ups for those of you who require all the comforts of home while camping, while we offer back to nature sites for those of you who desire a purer form of camping. For those "glampers" out there, we provide park model RV rentals. You'll also find laundry facilities, camp store, propane sales, and pavilion rentals.
We are conveniently located only 6.5 miles from Interstate 84, yet provide a quiet and secluded setting which is close to many of the areas most popular attractions, including Steamtown National Historic Site, Pocono raceway, and Claws 'N' Paws Animal Park. Explore our Links page where we provide our laid back version of conceirge service for campers. Investigate our activities agenda which highlights our Campfire Music Series and further complements our country lakeside setting. Come see why we have enjoyed making our backyard yours for so many years...Clayton Park Map Clayton Park Recreational Area
