Welcome
Welcome to the Clayton Park Recreational Area website. We are a seasonal campground and boat launch where we endeavor to preserve and enhance our family tradition, spanning nearly a century, of providing the public with opportunities for memorable outdoor experiences on beautiful Lake Henry. Be sure to visit our Links and Facebook pages as these provide an interactive introduction to our park and the area around us.

The Mt. Cobb VFW Post 6520 is getting closer to having a home. We were happy to help out with their fundraiser.

September

Everyone is watching Earl for the Labor Day weekend. Check out our local forecast here.

Labor Day Weekend Schedule of Events: We'll usher out the last of our summer holidays with a Buck! Come out and ride the mechanical bull courtesy of Buckin' Bounce Adventures on Saturday! And, listen to campfire music Friday AND Saturday evening. We are glad to have Jacob Vanko back on Friday evening, and John Quinn on Saturday evening, in the last of our Campfire Music Series for the season. And, we'll do a pinata at the start of music on Saturday evening!

We've moved our movie to Sunday evening when we'll show Mama Mia at 8pm.

Saturday, September 11th is the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Scranton. If you would like to be part of a team from Clayton Park, let us know. You don't have to "run" to be a part of the race. You can walk the course, or sleep in for it!

Saturday, September 18th is our Annual Campers Party. We'll have a jumphouse for the kids, and a DJ, and lots of good food and friends. As always, it's a covered dish, and byob. Don't miss out on the summer's last hurrah! Look for our schedule soon...

Bring your tent, bring your RV, or stay in one of our park models.

Nestled in the quiet hills of the Lake Region of Northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, we began as a humble boat livery in the early 1900's. We gradually expanded to include tent and RV camping, pavilion rentals, and fishing tournaments. Today, our campground is a highly creative endeavor through which we paint experiences based on the tranquil countryside and the unique people who've composed around us.
While we are conveniently located just a few minutes from Interstate 84, our campground rests in a quiet, secluded setting on the shores of Lake Henry. The cities of Scranton, Honesdale, Carbondale and Hamlin are all within 30 minutes or less where you can find many popular attractions including The Steamtown National Historic Site and Stourbridge Line Rail Excursions, Glenmaura National Golf Course, The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, Dickson City Crossings, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Claws 'N' Paws Wild Animal Park, Varden Conservation Area, and the world's 2nd best hot-wings at the Windsor Inn. Explore our Links tab for more information on the area where we provide our version of concierge service for campers. We also provide many unique activity opportunities within our park which were perfectly designed to further enhance your outdoor experience.
We are located in the southern part of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, which has more lakes than any other county in PA. The 310 acres of Lake Henry make it the second largest lake in the County and home to many popular species of fish, including large and small mouth bass, pickerel, perch, catfish, crappie, bluegills, and sunfish. Eagles and herons fish here regularly. Bring your PA fishing license and you can enjoy fishing Lake Henry too! But, unlike the birds, you must abide by seasonal dates for specific species of fish.
Need a concierge? Be sure to visit our Links page for loads of information on our park and the area. You can also find out about our policies before your visit. Review our Our Firewood Policy. All firewood must be approved by Clayton Park management. Firewood from home is strictly prohibited. We hope you find the content of this entire website useful, informative and inspiring. Or if you are pondering spending the season with us we'd love to welcome you to our seasonal camping family! Come see why we have enjoyed sharing our backyard with you for so many years. We look forward to hearing from you and providing your family's outdoor destination for solace, rejuvenation and lasting memories.
